Job Role: Business Development Support, Hospitality

Principal Purpose

As a team member the role is to support the external specification team, from the initial identification of a project to its successful conclusion. 

Principal Elements

Specialising in the Hospitality sector, identify projects using lead generating sources such as Glenigan and Linkedin. Make this initial contact understand the opportunity and make appointment for the Area specification managers.

Co-ordination of first stage & second stage follow up with two designated Sales Managers and update project information on the CRM. 

Creating bills of quantities for the Nuance paneling system based on architectural drawings supplied by the customers. 


·       Identification of Hospitality related Opportunities from Glenigan, magazine requests, internet; first stage validation and logging on CRM

·       Co-ordination of first stage & second stage follow up with two designated Sales Managers

·       Follow up of sample category B&C sample requests

·       Logging in Sales Managers; diaries of live Opportunities relevant to sales calls

·       Internal Hospitality Specialist – cold calling, acquiring specialist knowledge of specification process within this market sector

·       Nuance enquiries – doing take offs, creating bill of quantities, sending to distributors for pricing, liaising with customer and follow up to order


Knowledge and Experience (Knowledge and experience needed for satisfactory performance of the job)

·       Excellent communication skills both face-to-face and over the telephone

·       Excellent organisational skills

·       Highly proactive & self-motivated

·       Able to work efficiently in a team and alone


Office based: Wilsonart offices, Shildon, County Durham.

Performance Measures

Annual appraisals to be undertaken by The Business Development Manager and objectives set for the forthcoming year.
