Decor of the Week: Lave

Inspired by natural lava stone, Lave is this week’s décor in focus. Featuring a deep grey and charcoal pattern as found in nature, Lave replicates the characteristics of volcanic rock, and has a realistic, textured roche finish.

Lave looks dark and stormy; it’s the ideal décor for achieving the Illusive Space look, as identified in our Wilsonart UK 2020 trend report. As kitchen and living areas combine and expand, top of the list is a family kitchen that looks extensive, running seamlessly into the living space – achieved by choosing slimline worktops, long-running surfaces, and spacious islands.

As part of the Zenith worktop range, Lave is only 12.5mm thin, placing it perfectly as the centre point in a minimalist kitchen. Zenith worktops are super slim so the profile blends with furniture; super tough so it stands up to family kitchen-living life; and waterproof, so a seamless undermount sink makes the finishing touch without breaking the smooth silhouette.

In a clean and modern space, Lave is ideal for creating illusive space. In our flat lay above, we’ve used the dark tones of a Zenith worktop in Lave as the base of a muted colour palette featuring charcoal, dusky pink and light grey. In an open plan kitchen, lighter wood used on the floor or for open shelving creates contrast, and a splashback in Star makes a real statement without tiles.

Lave is currently available as a Zenith worktop in the following sizes:

Worktop
Breakfast Bar
Upstand
