Decor of the Week: Romantic Walnut

Romantic Walnut is a key décor in our Biophilic Connections trend for 2020, a concept inspired by the outside world, wellness, and having a space free from the stresses and hyper connectivity of the outside world.

We all feel more relaxed when surrounded by nature, and Biophilic Connections aims to do just that; Romantic Walnut is a warm, planked timber effect laminate lending itself to a calming interior design inspired by natural woods, stones and greenery – a space in which we can switch off.

As a wood effect laminate, Romantic Walnut is realistic; the large scale design features an organic mix of warm brown tones, and knots and swirls in the wood.

The planked design feels less processed than, for example, a blocked timber, and in our flat lay above we’ve taken complementary colour inspiration from nature: greens, neutrals, shades of grey and brown – painted wooden frontals with a white splashback like our Geometry Statement Splashback keep a space light and bright. Natural materials including rattan and leather add depth and texture in a neutral space, and lots of greenery is a must.
