Decor of the Week: Tectonica

Introducing Tectonica: a key concrete décor, ideally suited to a minimalist style kitchen with the signature quirky, factory-inspired details of the industrial look.

As established in our 2020 trend report, what we know as industrial style kitchens begin to strike a balance between strong lines and soft details to create what our experts have identified as a new phase of industrial. Urban Retreat is a balance of industrial and comfort, creating a city inspired space that feels at once chic and fresh, but also homely.

As a concrete effect laminate, Tectonica replicates the patterns created when concrete is poured, giving it a realistic look but as a laminate, a softer finish. In a residential kitchen, the softer Tectonica finish takes off the cold edge of a real concrete or metal.

To achieve the city hideaway look using Tectonica, we’ve placed it above with warm grey slate flooring, a clean Geometry splashback from our Statement Splashbacks range, and soft grey hues for the walls. A pop of unexpected dark red warms things up and a large pendant light adds atmosphere, while wooden frontals and plenty of greenery add a nod to nature.
